Hello all of you in Blog land. Here at Rob the Markets Blind, I also take the position of writing about the fun and enjoyment of the 'treasure hunting' at garage, estate, thrift, and stores looking for bargains that can be resold for a gain. At this point in my life, unlike other blogs of this type, I do it for fun and amusement. In the years ahead when I retire, I might do it for profit. How it's just a fun hobby.
It's just purely amazing how one's junk is another's treasure or need.
Do you sell purses on Ebay ?
Hey you cats out there, did you jump going to estate sales ,
yaaaaaaaaaaahooooooo
Winning is grabbing momentum, profiting from it and then releasing it
A winner must be willing to embrace change and welcome challenge. The biggest “fear,” if there is one, is not of the unknown, but of becoming complacent and stagnant. An environment of change and even uncertainty can energize a mentally strong person and bring out their best.

The Daily Log
As followers of this blog knows, I tend to write about estate sales from time to time.
I plan to write stories about my finds and gains on this on a more frequent basis from this point on.
Thursday, May 15
8:05am CST. Agenda is laid out for today. Going to estate sale in upscale neighborhood at 9am today. Then head further out for another estate sale. On the way back hit some thrift stores. At 1PM another estate sale.
Projection: A fun day and profitable as well.

Wednesday - May 14 - Finding items to sell online (Ebay and/or Amazon)
Youtube and a number of other sites can tell you where to find things to sell online on Ebay or Amazon. Hey, I think you already know what the basic ones are: Estate sales, garage sales, auctions, thrift stores, your attic or basement.
I'm going to tell you one who haven't read about anywhere on the net.
Here's the story.
I was coming home from work one day and on the way home, there is this half price book store I like to visit from time to time. The book store has an area where one can bring in books and reading material and sell them to the store. I was near that area when a man and lady approached the area with items to sell to the store. I was curious on what they might get and came within hearing distance. It appeared that they could not make a deal with the store. The elderly lady saw me watching and then wandered over to my area and asked if I was interested. I said yes and we went outside to their vehicle to discuss. One thing I bought was a set of 17 pristine Life magazine books. I was aware of one of the covers and could recover my entire cost if I sold that one Life magazine at the going rate. More importantly, I asked how they got their material. The elderly lady told me she was a cleaning lady and gave me her card. She said she would find things at the homes she was cleaning that your clients no longer wanted or let her have. I told her I like to buy vintage and old items. I worked out a deal where she and I will contact each other as she comes across items to see. The bottom line is that I have a source who can 'find' things that might not be available at the retail or garage sales I go to.
Catching Fire stock action today. Sold PCLN and MGM.
You, you, you need to rake

On the Horizon leftovers
- A L I B A B A - monster IPO on the way sometime this year. I'm ready but so it everybody else. One thing for sure. It was start out and be called by fundamentalists as 'Way Over Valued'. In the meantime, investors are salvaging over YHOO.
- IBD knocking around a spew regarding Google buying out Ebay to get PayPal. Baird Equity Research analyst Colin Sebastian suggested Google could offer up to a 50% premium for eBay over its Friday closing price of 57.
- TSLA (Telsa). As analysts expect TSLA to meet all their earnings/revenue projections for 2014, expect new catalysts for movement of TSLA stock to be the announcements of the battery gigafactory location, partner announcements, and ground breaking of the business all within 2014. In the meantime, the TSLA shorts have shifted their focus of share overvaluation to the drop in price in Europe of the vehicles. What the shorts don't realize is that the price drop has more to do with a strong Euro and nothing to do with Demand.
- PCLN. Priceline is a monster growth and momentum stock and it's P/E is only 25

Regarding the Catching Fire portfolio. My real account in part mimics most but not all of the same stocks at different buying prices and different quantities.
