A winner is willing to take calculated risks. This is a different thing entirely than jumping headlong into foolish risks. But with mental strength, an individual can weigh the risks and benefits thoroughly, and will fully assess the potential downsides and even the worst-case scenarios before they take action

Market down yesterday on Russian stuff. Market up today on Russian stuff.

I have some limit orders on GOOG and PCLN which probably will not hit my limit mark today... doubt will trade today ... will see how the afternoon goes

I got my limit order on GOOG at 1211 today at 2:04 ET. Bought additional 5 shrs.

Friday, Feb 28 leftovers

What is a momentum stock? ILMN is a momentum stock. It's a stock that has moved up in eleven of the last thirteen weeks... from under 100 to 178 per share.

CRM is a momentum stock. It has moved up 10 out of the last 11 weeks from under 50 a shr to over 63 a share,

NFLX: My end of 2014 year projection has already been made. I am now upgrading the projection to 475.

8:45am Rolled out my FB option from Mar22 to Mar28.. cost me $5.00 and added $100 to the strike price. Buy to close FB Mar22 70 and sold to buy FB Mar28 71.

9:00am Looking at protecting some gains... plan to unleashed some shares or buy insurance to protect them....

9:46 Sold 50 shrs of TSLA for a net gain of $3821 ... still own 65 shrs TSLA.

9:50 Sold 9 shrs of PCLN for a net gain of $1749 .... still own 5 shrs PCLN.

10;00 Added to position on AMZN....

10:08 Closed MDSO.

10:12 Sold 10 shrs of GOOG for nice net gain. Still own 5 shr GOOG.

10:40 Sold all of ILMN for a net gain.

10:47 Sold 20 shr NFLX for net gain.. still own 10 shrs.

Momentum stocks move on 'Promise', not 'valuation'. There are more investors and traders who buy on 'promise' than buy on 'valuation'. When there are more buyers than sellers, the share price moves upwards.

Are you going after the big fish?

This site isn't all about the stock market. However, with the daily updating of the stock market, it took most of my time. I am still going to discuss the stock market but also going to relate more to other parts of this site - such as the paintings, my hobbies such as estate sale treasure hunting, movies, autos, etc.

I have developed a good following if the Blogger statistics I get are correct. It will be interesting to see how they change in the coming months. As stated, I will start a new public stock market portfolio. There's so technical issues to work out. One being displaying Options.
