Monday Madness

..................................

Momentum stocks move on 'Promise', not 'valuation'. There are more investors and traders who buy on 'promise' than buy on 'valuation'. When there are more buyers than sellers, the share price moves upwards.

FB FaceBook baffles the Street with purchase of WhatsApp for 19 billion .
FB wants to DOMINATE the market for Messaging !

AAPL: I think this is a terrific and wonderful time and opportunity to be in AAPL. Apple has nothing but good exciting positive news upcoming in the next few months. Get in before it's too late. Tremendous upside potential and almost no downside.

TSLA: The Telsa 'train' continues to blast forward. Telsa's currently needs to keep up with Demand. There is Over Demand for it's excellent auto product.

PCLN Priceline ..Number of analyst have upgraded PCLN to nearly 1500. I had it targeted the first week of Jan.  See my forecasts in this blog. PCLN out to dominate the reservation industry....

Winning is grabbing momentum, profiting from it and then releasing it

A winner must be willing to  embrace change and  welcome challenge. The biggest “fear,” if there is  one, is not of the unknown, but of becoming complacent and stagnant. An environment of change and even uncertainty can energize a mentally strong person and bring out their best.

A winner is willing to take calculated risks. This is a different thing entirely than jumping headlong into foolish risks. But with mental strength, an individual can weigh the risks and benefits thoroughly, and will fully assess the potential downsides and even the worst-case scenarios before they take action

8:35 Bought 20 shr NFLX at 430.. immediately dropped to 428 but now coming back.

09:15  Rolled out my written option Call on FB 66 to Mar 22 FB 70. Cost me about $200 but allows me $400.00 more on the stock if called or sold (at today's prices).

9:35 Closed out JAZZ ..

10:00 The Apple AAPL conundrum. Apple has been slow to deliver on new development and their creativity has appeared to lessen. As such the 'Promise' has been weaken. During the Carl Icahn push to have Apple do something with it's cash horde, what was discovered is that certain large institutions with large holdings of apple appeared not to want AAPL to be aggressive in pursuit of new products and preferred that apple be more conservative and mundane. As such, I am going to start selling part of my apple holdings. From 2009 to early 2014, I was in accumulation mode and sold none of my holdings. Recently I sold 8 shares. Today I have a stop limit order to sell 8 more shares if the share price drops to 525.00.

11:10  Limit hit, sold 8 shr AAPL at 525.

Regarding the Catching Fire portfolio. My real account in part mimics most but not all  of the same stocks at different buying prices and different quantities.

 ,

Are you going after the big fish?
This site isn't all about the stock market. However, with the daily updating of the stock market, it took most of my time. I am still going to discuss  the stock market but also  going to relate more to other parts of this site - such as the paintings, my hobbies such as estate sale treasure hunting, movies, autos, etc.
I have developed a good following if the Blogger statistics I get are correct. It will be interesting to see how they change in the coming months. As stated, I will start a new public stock market portfolio. There's so technical issues to work out. One being displaying Options.

Catching Fire started during thanksgiving week, Nov 2013
