A winner must be willing to  embrace change and  welcome challenge. The biggest “fear,” if there is  one, is not of the unknown, but of becoming complacent and stagnant. An environment of change and even uncertainty can energize a mentally strong person and bring out their best.

A winner is willing to take calculated risks. This is a different thing entirely than jumping headlong into foolish risks. But with mental strength, an individual can weigh the risks and benefits thoroughly, and will fully assess the potential downsides and even the worst-case scenarios before they take action

 The  Daily Log

The Daily Log

Tuesday,Jan 21

8:50am Sold HALO for small loss. I'm always looking for new winners. If they don't perform, I get rid of them...

8:57am cst.. Sold remaining NFLX. I'm changing my methodology from holding stocks a longer  term to more frequent  trading in-and-out based on current market sentiment and also on seasonal and historical tendencies. The market is much too volatile to really hold stocks during major market downturns. Anyhow, even with selling these two losers today and using the existing methodology, I am up with a net profit of over $6,400 intra-day as of 8.57am today.

9:07  Housing sentinent is up today, bought 200 shr of a free commission etf from my broker, SCHH. This is likely to be a daytrade.

9:09  Semi conductors are on today. bought 250 shr FCS.
SCHH immediately went the wrong way for me and I immediately sold all. Only looking for winners.

9:20 Airline stocks are torrid, Amer Air and Delta are hitting all time highs, bought DAL 200 shrs.
                                             don't be afraid to play

9:27am The silly DOW is down today. I'm into Protection and Hedging. Bought 200 shrs DXD.
Time for a little telsa timeout, right?

9:30 I'm cleaning out my slate of certain stocks as I switch over to the Sentiment and Tendencies strategy. Sold FEYE.

10:50am  Bought 250shrs CENX.

10:54am Bought 200shrs CODE,
Did you break the CODE ?

11:12am Bought more FB which brings up to 200 shrs.

Can we be friends on Facebook FB

2:33pm cst   Have a limit order in to sell to open a FB call, Jan31 61's at 2.20.
 I'm on Call

2:40pm That didn't take long. Wrote the FB Call and collected $220.00 for a Jan31 61.

3:05pm Before the closing  bell today, I did a TSLA option combo play. Write a Jan31 185 call for 2.71 and bought a Jan31 170 put for 3.25. Combined commission was 10.45 (shown split on portfolio spreadsheet)

I am in the process of setting up another public portfolio

I have always felt that one of the better methods of

playing the market related to buying and selling based on Sentiment and seasonal and historical market tendencies. As such, this new portfolio will be based on these factors. I will continue with the Catching Fire portfolio which currently has a net profit in less than two months of public  trading.

More details to come in the coming days. I thank all my followers and guests from Stocktwits and wish you all well. Best regards, MightyMo

Regarding the Catching Fire portfolio. My real account in part mimics most but not all  of the same stocks at different buying prices and different quantities.

 ,

Are you going after the big fish?
This site isn't all about the stock market. However, with the daily updating of the stock market, it took most of my time. I am still going to discuss  the stock market but also  going to relate more to other parts of this site - such as the paintings, my hobbies such as estate sale treasure hunting, movies, autos, etc.
I have developed a good following if the Blogger statistics I get are correct. It will be interesting to see how they change in the coming months. As stated, I will start a new public stock market portfolio. There's so technical issues to work out. One being displaying Options.
